Responsibilities

  • Oversee lower classifications by coordinating and assigning tasks, monitoring work, training and mentoring.
  • Monitor safety and productivity of crewmembers.
  • Conduct safety tailgate meetings with crew and complete required paperwork.
  • Responsible for construction, installation, maintenance and replacement of poles, anchors, crossarms, pins, cut-outs, and other overhead pole components.
  • Responsible for installation, maintenance and replacement of transformers, reclosers, capacitors, regulators, step-downs and other overhead pole equipment.
  • Inspect lines, poles and equipment for signs of damage or wear.
  • Carry poles, dig holes, frame and guy poles and perform other operations involved in the setting or replacing of poles.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems and perform emergency repairs on distribution circuits.
  • Set up and operate wire tensioners, rope rigs, and other wire stringing equipment.
  • Responsible for efficient and proper use of all tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Operate, inspect, and maintain bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavation equipment, and other equipment.
  • Read and interpret site plans, construction drawings, schedules, and scopes of work.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Authorized to work in the United States for this company.
  • Valid driver's license with a minimum of 2 years driving experience.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Willingness to work in a solo and team environment.
  • Experience in working through all types of weather, including inclement weather.
  • Self-starter.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Able to travel and work extended hours; overtime and weekends as needed.
  • 5+ years of experience in power construction.
  • Ability to lift and/or pull up to 25lbs.
