About the position

The Foreman position at Pace involves supervising maintenance personnel and overseeing vehicle repair and maintenance activities. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient operation of the maintenance department, providing guidance and training to mechanics, and maintaining safety and compliance standards within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Supervise vehicle repair and maintenance activities.
• Assign work to employees using Oracle.
• Review work orders for time and material usage.
• Monitor employee attendance.
• Respond to road calls.
• Provide instructions and on-the-job training to mechanics.
• Generate and review reports.
• Perform administrative duties.
• Update and maintain vehicle repair logs.
• Oversee vehicle servicing, interior cleaning, and facility repairs.
• Inspect the facility for safety and security compliance.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• At least four years of prior experience with diesel/gas maintenance and repair or technical training in related fields.
• Good work record; supervisory experience preferred.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Class A Illinois Commercial Driver's License with airbrake and passenger endorsements within 90 days of hire.
• Must have DOT certification; A/C certification preferred.
• Must pass the Foreman exam.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
