About the position

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Civil/Structural Forensic Engineer to join our client's Alabama Practice. This is a full remote position, allowing you to work from the convenience of your home office. Whether you are based in Birmingham or the Northern Alabama Area, we want to hear from you! As a Civil/Structural Engineer, your main responsibility will be to conduct and oversee investigations involving buildings, structures, and structural components. This will include performing structural analysis, assessing damages, ensuring building code compliance, conducting lab and field testing of construction materials, and reviewing structural designs. You will be working closely with clients and other consultants, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and compiling detailed reports summarizing your findings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and oversee investigations involving buildings, structures, and structural components.
• Perform structural analysis and assess damages to structures.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
• Conduct lab and field testing of construction materials.
• Review and evaluate structural designs for safety and compliance.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate with clients and consultants.
• Compile detailed reports summarizing findings and recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
• Experience in forensic engineering or structural analysis.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software and tools.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with lab testing of construction materials.
• Familiarity with construction practices and materials.
