About the position

As a Forensic Senior Structural Engineer at Engineering Consulting Services (ECS), you will be responsible for providing testing and consulting services for the built environment. This includes conducting property condition assessments, specialized testing, building enclosure consulting, forensic investigation analysis, and designing repairs for existing structures. Your role will require a high level of responsibility, organization, reliability, time management, and self-motivation. You will be tasked with preparing detailed reports and proposals, overseeing proposal development, fieldwork, and report preparation, as well as maintaining and developing a comprehensive client database. Additionally, you will manage project budgets and prepare invoices, mentor junior staff, and promote a safe workplace by ensuring the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

• Conduct testing and consulting services for the built environment.
• Perform property condition assessments and specialized testing.
• Provide building enclosure consulting and forensic investigation analysis.
• Design repairs for existing structures and facilities-related services.
• Prepare detailed reports and proposals for clients.
• Oversee proposal development, fieldwork, and report preparation.
• Maintain and develop a client database for ongoing projects.
• Manage project budgets and prepare invoices for services rendered.
• Mentor junior staff and promote professional development.
• Ensure a safe workplace and proper use of PPE.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university; Master's degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
• 8-12 years of experience in managing facilities consulting projects and structural or building enclosure projects.
• Experience providing assessments and investigative services (forensics) for the built environment.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain one within three months.
