About the position

The Forensic Structural Engineer will investigate and evaluate the causes and extent of damage resulting from various catastrophes, including storms, natural disasters, fires, and construction defects. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team of experts. The position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility while still requiring travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and evaluate damage from storms, natural disasters, fires, and other catastrophes.
• Perform physical assessments in confined spaces and on roofs.
• Write detailed reports on findings and evaluations.
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of experts.
• Travel locally, regionally, and nationally as required.

Requirements

• Licensed P.E. in Texas or eligible by reciprocity.
• 3+ years of forensic engineering experience preferred.
• Strong technical writing skills for effective report writing.
• Strong verbal communication skills for face-to-face interactions.
• Technical proficiency with computers, phones, and cameras.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, including carrying ladders and operating equipment.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

• Expert Witness and litigation experience.
• Master of Science Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
