About the position

The Consulting Utility Forester position at ACRT, Inc. is designed for both entry-level and experienced professionals with a background in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, environmental studies, or related fields. The role involves outdoor work, focusing on the identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines, while also coordinating tree clearance activities and serving as a liaison between clients and tree crews.

Responsibilities

• Identify, inspect, and evaluate trees and brush along utility lines.
• Submit inspection results to clients with recommendations.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of assigned tree clearance crews.
• Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues.
• Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers.

Requirements

• 2-year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science, or closely related field, or a high school diploma plus 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or related field.
• Vegetation management experience preferred.
• ISA Certified Arborist preferred.
• Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience working with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware preferred but not required.
• Self-motivated, organized, and production-oriented.
• Ability to work independently and manage a geographical area for vegetation-related activities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with stakeholders, utility customers, and line clearance vendors.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Multi-tasking and strong time management skills required.
• Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules.
