About the position

The Forklift Operations Associate at Weyerhaeuser's Phoenix Distribution Center is responsible for the safe movement and handling of materials in the wood products yard/warehouse. This entry-level position involves operating forklifts, loading and unloading products, and ensuring safety and efficiency in warehouse operations. The role requires a commitment to quality and continuous improvement while performing manual labor outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maintain propane or gas forklift to move products from stock lines to staging and/or cut stations.
• Safely load and unload products from various trailers and rail cars.
• Ensure personal safety and the safety of others by intervening in unsafe practices.
• Wear all personal protective equipment as required.
• Accurately perform basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, and multiplying.
• Accurately count units, record totals, and document shipping and receiving activities.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations.
• Commit to quality, efficiency, and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move or slide up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work on a computer.
• Ability to work cohesively in a team environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
