About the position

The Forklift Driver position at Transpacific Food involves operating forklifts to manage the movement of raw materials and finished products within the warehouse. The role is crucial for ensuring that daily operations run smoothly, adhering to company policies and procedures while maintaining accurate records and contributing to the financial interests of the company.

Responsibilities

• Perform Forklift Pre-flight checklist daily including trailer inspections and weights of incoming products.
• Deliver raw materials to designated staging areas for processing.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the portable truck ramp and surrounding areas.
• Load and unload freight from trucks accurately.
• Review and complete all receiving documentation and submit to the Warehouse Manager.
• Tag out trailers before loading and unloading.
• Weigh products received from outside growers and farmers.
• Clean freezers of debris several times daily.
• Identify raw and finished products with accurate traceability.
• Assist in bringing finished products from the fill room to the receiving dock in the freezer.
• Lubricate, top off batteries, and maintain forklifts weekly.
• Ensure raw materials are correctly identified and stored in staging areas.
• Remove garbage, containers, and pallets from the warehouse perimeter daily.
• Separate good and broken pallets and store them in dedicated areas.
• Maintain proper warehouse organization and cleanliness of packaging materials.
• Assist in production or help in the fill room as needed.
• Monitor fruit condition during shipping and receiving.
• Stage the fill room with necessary barrels for the next day's production.
• Receive and unload supplies from vendors, ensuring accurate counts and signatures.
• Manage inventory of all packaging materials.
• Communicate closely with truck drivers regarding deliveries.
• Store pallets safely in freezer racking at heights from 5ft to 30ft.
• Hand wrap individual pallets for production preparation.
• Clean warehouse and freezer surfaces daily.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Manager or lead.

Requirements

• Ability to operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts (reach lift).
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical labor.
• Ability to work in cold conditions, with temperatures as low as -5 degrees for durations of 20-30 minutes.
• Experience in loading/unloading trailers with pallet weights ranging from 1600 lbs to 4000 lbs.
• Ability to store materials in racking at heights from 5ft to 30ft.
