About the position

Ryder is seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator for a permanent full-time position in Wilmington, Illinois. The role involves operating electric sit-down forklifts and handling food products in a warehouse environment. The operator will be responsible for various warehouse functions, ensuring safety and efficiency while working with state-of-the-art equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and forklift operation.
• Ensure accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading/unloading of trucks.
• Handle day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse environment, such as picking sheets, returns, and bills of lading.
• Provide technical and maintenance support for the automated packing system during production hours.
• Adhere to performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more of related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid Forklift Operator's License certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization.
• Highly thorough and dependable with good attendance record.
• Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
