About the position
The Forklift Operator position at Tyson Foods is responsible for the efficient loading, unloading, and processing of products and materials in the warehouse using a motor-powered forklift. This role emphasizes safety and requires team members to be trained and certified on forklift operation during orientation. The position involves working in a cold storage environment and requires physical stamina and the ability to handle various tasks throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all products and materials are loaded, unloaded, and processed accurately and timely using a forklift.
- Move around the work area at a fast pace and perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, lifting, and pushing up to 40 pounds.
- Use a handheld scanner to track products during loading, unloading, and movement within the facility.
- Follow all Tyson policies and safety guidelines during operations.
- Perform sub duties such as receiving, putting away, replenishing, picking, and loading products as required.
Requirements
- Must have full range of motion of arms, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck, all digits, and legs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and maintain balance.
- Must pass post-offer health assessment and drug screening.
- Cold storage experience is preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience operating stand-up forklifts and reach trucks.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and safety protocols.
