About the position

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator/Yard Master for a Metal Stair and Handrailing company, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various types of forklifts and heavy equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring timely shipping and receiving operations while maintaining high safety standards and inventory organization in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate traditional forklifts, combilift, and trucks to load and unload materials.
• Move products to designated staging and inventory areas within the warehouse buildings and ensure proper storage.
• Assist in shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accuracy in documentation and inventory management.
• Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and other heavy equipment to ensure they are in safe working condition.
• Collaborate with the production supervisor to optimize workflow and maintain organization within the business campus.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating equipment to prevent accidents and injuries.

Requirements

• Proficient in operating various types of forklifts and other machinery.
• Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to read blueprints or has prior metals fabrication experience.
• Experience in shipping and receiving processes within a warehouse setting.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in various weather scenarios (outdoor - year-round) while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors.
