About the position

The Forklift Operator position at Spherion involves operating various material handling equipment to support production lines, inventory management, and shipping tasks within a state-of-the-art warehousing and distribution facility. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient movement and handling of materials, contributing to the overall productivity of the operation.

Responsibilities

• Operates material handling equipment, including push carts, pallet jacks, forklifts, and automated guided vehicles based on the needs of the task.
• Completes inventory counts, visually inspects materials and labels for accuracy, and loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting devices.
• Inspects material handling equipment for safety and maintenance issues, lubricates, recharges batteries, or replaces liquefied gas tanks as needed.
• Inspects trailers to verify that they meet quality management system standards before loading or unloading and completes appropriate documentation as required.

Requirements

• 1-4 years of experience in equipment/forklift operation and material handling.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Quality control and machine operation experience is a plus.
• Current or previous forklift certification is preferred.
