About the position
As a Forklift Operator at XPO, you will play a crucial role in the efficient handling of freight within our warehouse environment. This position requires you to work the night shift, specifically from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM, where you will be responsible for sorting, handling, loading, and unloading both palletized and non-palletized freight. You will utilize various motorized and manual equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to ensure that freight is secured inside trailers using the appropriate tools and supplies. Safety is paramount in this role, and you will be expected to adhere to all company safety policies while working in a loading dock environment that may not be climate-controlled. In addition to your operational duties, you will be required to use mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments, ensuring that all freight is accounted for and processed efficiently. The role demands physical stamina, as you will frequently lift freight and other objects weighing up to 50 lbs, and occasionally more than 70 lbs. You will also need to perform various physical activities such as reaching, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, squatting, and kneeling as necessary throughout your shift. This position is classified as Motor Carrier Act Exempt, which means it is subject to specific regulations regarding hours of service and other operational guidelines. Responsibilities

Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Able to perform basic math calculations, with and without a calculator.
- Available to work a variety of shifts due to varying freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
Nice-to-haves
- Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry.
- Forklift experience in a freight or less-than-truckload (LTL) environment.
