Forklift Operator - Night Shift

About the position

The Forklift Operator position at XPO involves efficiently sorting, handling, loading, and unloading freight in a fast-paced environment. This role requires working night shifts and may include weekends, with a focus on safety and adherence to company policies. Operators will utilize various equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to manage freight effectively while ensuring a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Sort, handle, load, and unload palletized and non-palletized freight efficiently.
• Use motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies.
• Adhere to company safety policies while working in a safe and efficient manner.
• Use mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments.
• Work on a dock that is not climate-controlled for extended periods.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Able to perform basic math calculations, with and without a calculator.
• Available to work a variety of shifts due to varying freight volumes.

Nice-to-haves

• Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry.
• Forklift experience in a freight or less-than-truckload (LTL) environment.
• Experience loading and unloading trailers.
• Strong attention to detail and desire to succeed.
