About the position
The Forklift Operator at XPO is responsible for efficiently sorting, handling, loading, and unloading freight in a fast-paced environment. This role requires adherence to safety policies while operating motorized and manual equipment, ensuring the secure transport of goods. The position offers competitive pay and benefits for those working 30 hours or more per week, with a focus on providing a safe and effective work environment.
Responsibilities
- Sort, handle, load, and unload palletized and non-palletized freight efficiently.
- Use appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies.
- Adhere to company safety policies while working in a safe and efficient manner.
- Use mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations, with and without a calculator.
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
Nice-to-haves
- Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry.
- Forklift experience in a freight or less-than-truckload (LTL) environment.
- Experience loading and unloading trailers.
- Strong attention to detail and a desire to succeed.
