As a Forklift Operator at XPO, you will play a crucial role in the efficient handling of freight within our transportation network. This position requires you to sort, handle, load, and unload both palletized and non-palletized freight using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks. You will be responsible for securing freight inside trailers with the necessary tools and supplies, ensuring that all operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to company safety policies. The work environment is dynamic, with varying freight volumes requiring flexibility in your schedule, including the possibility of working days, evenings, nights, and weekends. In this role, you will utilize mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments, contributing to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations. The position is physically demanding, requiring you to lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights, frequently up to 50 lbs and occasionally greater than 70 lbs. You will also need to be comfortable working on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled for extended periods, which may include slippery conditions. Your ability to perform tasks such as reaching, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, squatting, and kneeling will be essential to your success in this role.
