About the position
As a Forklift Operator at Matern Staffing, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement of materials within the lumber yard of the nation's largest Building Materials Company located in Waldorf, MD. This full-time position requires you to operate a forklift to transport products and materials, ensuring that production goals are met effectively. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading materials, verifying that the materials loaded match the corresponding invoices or requisitions, and completing the necessary paperwork accurately. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the yard, which is essential for safety and operational efficiency. Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift to move product and material throughout the lumber yard.
- Load and unload materials efficiently to meet production goals.
- Ensure product/material inventory levels and locations are correct.
- Verify that materials loaded match the invoice or requisition and complete the necessary paperwork.
- Perform routine cleanup of the yard.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months experience operating a forklift with lumber/building materials.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in warehouse operations for at least 1 year.
- Curiosity and problem-solving ability for identifying areas of improvement in safety and processes.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in operating pallet jacks.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
