About the position
The Forklift Operator at XPO is responsible for efficiently sorting, handling, loading, and unloading freight in a fast-paced environment. This role requires the use of motorized and manual equipment, adherence to safety policies, and the ability to work in a non-climate-controlled dock setting. Responsibilities
- Sort, handle, load, and unload palletized and non-palletized freight efficiently.
- Use appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies.
- Adhere to company safety policies while working in a safe and efficient manner.
- Use mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Able to perform basic math calculations, with and without a calculator.
- Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
Nice-to-haves
- Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry.
- Forklift experience in a freight or less-than-truckload (LTL) environment.
- Experience loading and unloading trailers.
- Strong attention to detail and desire to succeed.
