About the position

The Forklift Operator is responsible for efficiently loading, unloading, sorting, staging, and transporting products within a warehouse environment. This role requires adherence to safety policies and procedures while working cooperatively with other associates. The position is essential for maintaining the flow of goods in and out of the facility, ensuring accuracy and safety in operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently, following company safety policies and procedures.
  • Load and unload trailers, railcars, and transports to designated areas.
  • Check products on inbound/outbound to ensure items and quantities are correct and undamaged.
  • Use handheld scanners/equipment for warehouse management system compliance.
  • Perform daily maintenance inspections of equipment.
  • Work cooperatively with other warehouse associates.
  • Maintain the facility in a clean, neat, and orderly fashion.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience operating a forklift.
  • Ability to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in a warehouse environment.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
  • Ability to work overtime and adjust schedule as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with RF equipment.
  • Warehouse experience in a high-volume environment; experience in a food grade, refrigerated warehouse is helpful.
  • Familiarity with order management systems such as WMS.
  • Forklift certified.
