About the position
As a Forklift Operator at DXL, you will play a crucial role in our 500,000 square foot Distribution Center by operating a forklift to manage the loading and unloading of trucks, as well as relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. This position is essential in supporting DXL's mission to empower the Big + Tall guy by ensuring efficient and accurate handling of products within the distribution environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift to load and unload trucks.
- Relocate, stack, and count merchandise in the distribution center.
- Handle all unloading of inbound shipments and move products to their proper locations.
- Efficiently stack and move merchandise for packing or picking.
- Ensure the quality of inbound and outbound shipments is accurate and undamaged.
- Perform picking duties efficiently to meet department productivity standards.
- Adhere to safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in production areas.
- Inspect and maintain the forklift daily to ensure safety and functionality.
- Complete other duties or projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education.
- Experience working in a distribution center environment.
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn new computer systems.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole (preferred, not required).
