Forklift Operator

About the position

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our team at American Roofing Supply & Building Products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment to efficiently move, load, and unload products within our facility. This role is crucial in maintaining the flow of operations and ensuring that all materials are handled safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, including reach trucks and cherry pickers, to move materials throughout the warehouse.
• Load and unload shipments from trucks and containers, ensuring accurate placement of goods.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Adhere to OSHA safety regulations while operating equipment and handling materials.
• Assist in shipping and receiving processes, including verifying inventory counts and inspecting incoming shipments for damage.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that all equipment is stored properly after use.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.

Requirements

• Forklift Certification
• Experience operating reach trucks and cherry pickers
• Ability to perform heavy lifting
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to forklift operation and workplace safety
• Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor equipment issues
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes within a warehouse environment
• Excellent attention to detail for accurate inventory management
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
