About the position
As a Forklift Driver at DXL, you will be responsible for operating a forklift within our expansive 500,000 square foot Distribution Center. Your role is crucial in ensuring the efficient loading and unloading of trucks, as well as the proper relocation, stacking, and counting of merchandise. This position supports DXL's mission to empower the Big + Tall guy by delivering a seamless guest experience through effective logistics and inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Operating a forklift to load and unload trucks.
- Relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise.
- Handling all unloading of inbound shipments and moving products to their proper locations.
- Efficiently stacking and moving merchandise in appropriate areas for packing or picking.
- Ensuring the quality of inbound and outbound shipments is accurate and undamaged.
- Performing picking duties efficiently to meet department productivity standards.
- Meeting department productivity standards and requirements.
- Adhering to safety regulations and maintaining cleanliness in production areas.
- Inspecting and maintaining the forklift daily to ensure safety and functionality.
- Completing other duties or projects as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent combination of education.
- Experience working in a distribution center environment.
- Basic computer knowledge is helpful and ability to learn new computer systems.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole (preferred, not required).
