About the position

The Forklift PM Mechanic position at Alta Equipment Group involves performing preventative maintenance and repairs on customer forklifts and material handling equipment. This role is essential to ensuring the reliability and safety of equipment, providing exceptional customer service, and managing workloads independently. Technicians are provided with the necessary tools and resources to succeed, including a company vehicle and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Performing preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Inspecting and reporting deficiencies on all forms of customer equipment at customer site
• Completing each job in a timely, efficient and professional manner
• Providing exceptional customer service
• Working and managing workloads independently
• Proper completion and submission of all required paperwork
• Responsible for company vehicle and on-board parts inventory
• Performing other duties as assigned
• Maintaining consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time

Requirements

• Previous mechanic repair experience (forklift, heavy equipment, diesel, automotive)
• Strong working knowledge of electric and liquid propane units
• Excellent mechanical aptitude
• Possess own tools
• Familiarity with computer programs - HYPASS, Hyster TKC training software and Hyster contact management system
• Intermediate language skills to read and interpret documents and write routine reports
• Basic mathematical skills to perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement
• Intermediate reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the Military, Guard or Reserve with relevant MOS or NEC codes
