About the position
As a Forklift Operator / Relief Truck Driver at Bemis, you will play a crucial role in our operations, balancing both warehouse and driving responsibilities. This position is split evenly between warehouse duties and driving duties, ensuring that our logistics and inventory management run smoothly. You will be responsible for operating a forklift throughout the plant, moving products between departments, and loading and unloading trailers. This role requires you to be comfortable with heights, as you will be performing high picking on a high lift. Safety is paramount in this position, and you will be expected to follow all safety rules and regulations while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Good attendance is essential, as we rely on our team members to be present and engaged in their work. Communication is key; you will need to report any issues or suggest improvements to help us enhance our operations as a team. In addition to your warehouse duties, you will also fill in as a relief driver for semi interplant driving. This means you will need to be adaptable and ready to assist wherever needed. Daily tasks will include quick picking, layer picking, wrapping, unloading, and loading products. Responsibilities
- Perform warehouse duties including high picking on a high lift.
- Operate forklift throughout the plant as required.
- Move product from departments, load, and unload trailers.
- Unload pallets and stack products or materials.
- Assist with semi interplant driving as a relief driver.
- Communicate issues and improvements to enhance team performance.
- Maintain a safe and clean workspace by following safety rules and regulations.
- Ensure good attendance and punctuality.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
- Two years of current professional driving experience, with CDL classification A preferred.
- Possess a current CDL and have a clean driving record, which will be verified.
- Current medical card required.
