About the position

The Forklift Trainer at NFI Industries is responsible for training and certifying employees as qualified equipment operators within the warehouse. This role emphasizes safety awareness and requires a thorough understanding of operational systems such as PKMS and WMS. The Trainer will conduct both written and physical testing, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Train and certify employees as qualified equipment operators.
• Conduct written and physical testing for equipment operators.
• Ensure safe handling of equipment at all times.
• Follow operating guidelines and safety expectations for equipment handling.
• Maintain required 6flue space for pallet placement in racking.
• Achieve minimum KPI standards for productivity after training.
• Complete tasks systematically and in a timely manner.
• Conduct evaluations for equipment operators.
• Facilitate certification training for operators.
• Provide daily reminders of safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Implement monthly OSHA training and maintain accurate records.
• Conduct weekly housekeeping audits and report findings.
• Validate daily audits in the battery changing area.
• Provide hands-on training for new hires.
• Facilitate Safety Committee Meetings bi-monthly to discuss safety concerns.
• Ensure monthly inspections of harnesses, lanyards, fire extinguishers, lighting, and fans are conducted.
• Conduct Baler/Compactor training and certification.
• Prescreen equipment operators for HR purposes.
• Schedule training for Triennial certification.
• Update and maintain the Equipment Training Matrix spreadsheet.
• Distribute the Equipment Training Matrix to management via email.
• Keep data share files up to date.
• Update driver documentation and certification cards.
• Maintain record keeping for daily operations.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in safety training processes.
• Conduct PITCO re-certification and additional training as required.
• Replace lost certification cards.
• Perform weekly facility safety evaluations to identify safety improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• Must successfully complete and pass the equipment trainer/turret operator training course written exam and hands-on evaluation.
• Turret, Reach, Dock Truck, Electric Pallet Jack certification required.
• Extreme safety awareness and understanding of PKMS and WMS systems.
