About the position

The Formulation Scientist role at LGM Pharma involves the development and optimization of semi-solid and liquid dosage forms, including rectal and vaginal suppositories and topical foams. The position requires a thorough understanding of critical material attributes and the generation of necessary documentation for scale-up and stability batches. The role includes significant bench/lab work and the use of specialized equipment for testing formulations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for formulation development and process optimization of semi-solid and liquid dosage forms.
• Evaluate critical process parameters (CPPs) for dosage forms including rectal and vaginal suppositories and topical foams.
• Generate protocols, reports, master batch records, and formula cards for scale-up and stability batches.
• Assist in selecting and ordering supplies and raw materials.
• Perform visual inspection and physical testing on intermediates and finished dosage forms.
• Conduct bench/lab work, which constitutes 50%-70% of the time depending on workload.
• Knowledge of handling machines such as Viscometers, Rheometers, and Penetrometers.

Requirements

• MS in Pharmaceutics (PhD preferred).
• 5+ years' experience in formulation development, scale-up, and manufacturing of pharmaceutical drug products or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in the use of design of experiments (DoE) concepts for developing new formulations.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Good knowledge of CGMP regulations.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and effectively perform concurrent tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail.
