About the position

The Formulation Tech 2 position at bioMerieux is responsible for the operation of high-speed equipment used in the production and packaging of BacT/ALERT bottles, as well as preparing and formulating the liquid reagents that fill these bottles. This role requires adherence to cGMP compliance and involves tasks such as equipment setup, inspection, preventive maintenance, and documentation of production batches. The technician will work on a 2-2-3 schedule, ensuring quality and safety standards are met throughout the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Operate high speed manufacturing equipment, including automated systems using HMI/SCADA interfaces.
  • Perform chemical weighing and reagent formulation according to approved Manufacturing Directions.
  • Complete production activities while maintaining compliance with all job-related SOPs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of batch paperwork and documentation.
  • Assist in the review and revision of Manufacturing Directions and SOPs for product manufacture and packaging.
  • Support manufacturing deviation analysis and CAPA actions related to quality concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with cGMP requirements.
  • Utilize cleaning equipment and document data manually or through software applications.
  • Generate reports, charts, and KPIs to identify problems and make decisions.
  • Assist with executing validation protocols for manufacturing and packaging equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required with 2+ years in a regulated production/operations environment.
  • Associates Degree in an applicable or Technical field or Vocational/Technical School preferred.
  • Formulation experience in bulking and/or compounding in food, supplement, cosmetic, medical device, or pharmaceutical chemical formulation is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with measurement scales, mixing, blending, and chemical mills is strongly desired.
  • Certification in a Bioworks Program or equivalent is preferred.
  • Basic chemistry and lab application experience is strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations (LOTO, electrical safety, etc.) preferred.
  • Knowledge of FDA and/or GMP regulations preferred.
  • Mechanical background preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in a Bioworks Program or equivalent.
  • Experience in formulation in food, supplement, cosmetic, medical device, or pharmaceutical sectors.
