About the position

The Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDSE) role at Palantir involves working directly with customers to understand their challenges and design data-driven solutions. This position requires a blend of technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities to help organizations leverage their data for impactful outcomes. FDSEs operate in small teams, taking ownership of high-stakes projects and engaging in various tasks from architecture discussions to coding and client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Work in small teams to own end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects.
• Discuss architecture and technical solutions with fellow engineers.
• Wrangle and analyze massive-scale data.
• Code custom web applications to meet client needs.
• Engage with customer executives to understand their requirements and provide solutions.
• Establish strategy for the team and project execution.

Requirements

• U.S. Person required.
• 1+ years of relevant, post-college work experience.
• Strong engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar.
• Ability and interest to travel up to 25% to client sites.
