About the position

The Case Manager - Foster Care is a full-time role responsible for the placement and maintenance of children in foster homes, as well as providing casework services to birth families. This position requires collaboration with foster parents and the community, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining detailed records. The Case Manager will also participate in training and quality assurance activities, making it essential to have strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Place children in foster homes and maintain their well-being while in care.
  • Supervise and train foster parents, providing necessary support and guidance.
  • Provide casework services to birth families and children in foster homes.
  • Participate in conferences and training opportunities as requested by the Foster Care Supervisor.
  • Meet compliance standards for foster youth and foster parent records.
  • Prepare financial vouchers for foster parents and manage RBWO per diems for DHS.
  • Coordinate and participate in service and permanency planning for families on caseload.
  • Conduct monthly visits to foster homes and birth parents.
  • Participate in quality assurance peer monitoring of records.
  • Enter required data into the state's GA Score systems and support the agency's annual report.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a human service or behavioral science field.
  • Minimum of two years' experience working with children and families.
  • Ability to own, drive, and maintain an automobile in good working condition.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in word processing and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Good communication and writing skills.
