About the position

The Foster Care Recruitment and Placement Specialist at Catholic Charities West Michigan is a pivotal role responsible for the leadership and recruitment of foster and adoptive parents. This position involves assessing and developing marketing strategies aimed at fostering and adopting home recruitment, as well as creating plans for the retention of resource families. The specialist will also be tasked with organizing special events that support both the agency and the community, ensuring that the mission of providing help and creating hope is upheld through innovative and collaborative efforts. In this role, the specialist will coordinate and participate in various recruitment and retention activities, orienting prospective foster families through both individual and group processes. They will work closely with foster care and adoption programs, collaborating with community partners to enhance service delivery. The position requires the development of marketing plans and materials, as well as the coordination of special events to promote the agency's initiatives. Additionally, the specialist will provide inquiry services and information to prospective resource families, assist in the development of annual recruitment and retention plans, and ensure that foster homes are certified and maintained in accordance with relevant policies and procedures. The role also includes assessing and training foster parents and relatives, participating in immediate placements, and providing emergency services as needed. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in human services or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of three years of related experience in human services is required.
  • State of MI Driver's License with zero work restrictions is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or a Human Service-related field.
  • Experience in marketing strategies for recruitment.
