About the position

Youth Villages is seeking a dedicated Foster Care Specialist to join our team in Memphis, TN. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $50,000 to $58,000 per year, depending on education and clinical license. The Foster Care Specialist will work closely with foster care children to address their referral issues and advocate for their best interests in court. This role involves providing intensive in-home treatment that focuses on the entire family, rather than just the identified youth. Specialists will be responsible for a caseload of 8-10 families, delivering services in various settings such as the family's home, school, or court. The position requires a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the families served, including participation in an on-call rotation. Specialists will also engage in regular supervision meetings to discuss progress and personal development. Youth Villages offers a supportive environment where leadership is readily available for assistance in challenging situations. All specialists will undergo comprehensive training to enhance their clinical skills. The schedule is designed to be flexible and non-traditional, allowing for adaptability based on the availability of the youth and families served. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license, a personal vehicle for work purposes, and auto insurance, with mileage reimbursement provided for community-based staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services to the entire family, focusing on building trust and aligning them with treatment.
  • Manage a caseload of 8-10 families, delivering services in various settings such as home, school, or court.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to meet the needs of families.
  • Document services and progress using online/web-based systems accessible from home.
  • Meet with supervisors at least three times per week to discuss progress and personal development.
  • Engage in continuous training to maximize clinical skills and professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a social services discipline is required; Master's preferred.
  • One year of experience counseling adolescents in a clinical setting.
  • Experience with the Foster Care System is preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Basic computer knowledge and skills.
  • Must have a personal vehicle for work purposes and liability insurance.
