About the position

The Foundry Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for managing the Indiana territory for a global company specializing in the metal casting and foundry industries. This role focuses on maintaining and developing sales, identifying opportunities for expansion, and serving as a liaison between customers and various internal functions. The representative will demonstrate products, assist customers in selecting appropriate solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and support.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop maximum sales consistent with Company goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for sales expansion and recommend specific action plans to accomplish them.
  • Provide proper liaison between customers and production, laboratory, technical service, and management functions.
  • Demonstrate products/services and assist in the selection of products/services most applicable to customers' needs.
  • Familiarize established accounts with new products/services and developments.
  • Communicate pricing, terms, delivery dates, etc. on orders, subject to management approval.
  • Respond promptly to all needs and requests from within territory, including customer concerns and technical issues.
  • Investigate and report on customer complaints as needed.
  • Identify and develop points of purchase at accounts and develop relationships at significant management levels.
  • Submit sales plans, goals, and objectives for territory.
  • Review and update goals and objectives quarterly with Sales Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the National Sales Manager.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. in Business, Marketing or Technical Degree (Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, etc.) preferred.
  • 1-3 years' experience in sales and marketing of technical products.
  • Proven prospecting and closing skills with a track record of delivering results.
  • Knowledge of the foundry or chemical industry consumable products highly desired.
  • Ability to travel and pass a driving record background check (moving violations, accidents, license suspension, etc.) required.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Benefits

  • Base salary up to $95K plus uncapped commissions.
