About the position

The FP&A Analyst position at Bayway Refinery is responsible for supporting financial reporting, business transformation, and financial business support under the direction of the FP&A Finance Manager. The role involves analyzing financial data, creating forecasts and budgets, and collaborating with refinery leadership to maintain accurate financial reporting and compliance with procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates personal commitment to health, safety, and environmental objectives
  • Create and maintain cost reports from SAP, Power BI, and Analysis for Office
  • Perform detailed routine analysis during month end close and report the results to management
  • Assist with creating forecasts, outlooks, and budgets
  • Understand refinery processes and maintain forecast drivers by working closely with the refinery's leadership teams
  • Perform margin analysis and variance reporting for the Business unit and Corporate office
  • Assist with Business Transformation initiatives driven by the Business unit and Corporate office
  • Assist with Solomon Reporting
  • Maintains work procedures and work processes on an on-going basis and ensures compliance with those procedures, processes, and policies
  • Utilize our accounting and reporting systems to dive into the numbers and help identify cost savings opportunities, margin enhancements, and provide variance analysis
  • Assist with audit requests
  • Perform Ad-Hoc analysis requests from Business unit and Corporate office
  • Become a member of the emergency response team

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular, full-time basis without restrictions
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Outlook)
  • Strong analytical skills with intermediate/advanced excel skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Works independently without much supervision
  • Works well under pressure and able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to interact with a high level of professionalism with all levels of the organization
  • Subject to extended work hours during closing, turnaround, and emergencies
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality of all information (written & verbal) obtained on the job
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

  • At least one year experience in an auditing, accounting, or finance position
