About the position

The FP&A Analyst position at GKN Aerospace is an individual contributor role focused on supporting the Alabama manufacturing site within the Defense Business Line. The analyst will report directly to the Finance Director and will be responsible for providing actionable financial planning and analysis recommendations to key stakeholders and senior leaders. This role involves financial modeling, analysis, and coordination to support month-end analysis, forecasting cycles, and the establishment of the Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Plan. The analyst will also support various functional areas with financial analysis, risk assessment, and performance metrics related to backlog, sales, operating income, and manufacturing productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial data from Cincom ERP and utilize financial models, OneStream and TM1 consolidation tools to perform financial analysis and distill into actionable reports.
  • Develop and utilize forward-looking data analytics, visualization, and trend analysis to inform financial strategy and decision making.
  • Perform analysis on customer margins in detail by contract, model and part number, and explain cost components to managers to improve margins.
  • Identify and develop efficient methods to analyze financial results and operating data required by management.
  • Analyze direct and indirect labor levels and trends, ensuring managers are informed of their spending and financial results.
  • Perform indirect cost and program costs analysis to ensure operating and financial performance objectives are achieved.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-3 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Experience with enterprise-level cost management tools (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Cobra Cincom, Hyperion/Smartview, OneStream, TM1)
  • Proficient working experience with Excel, Power Point and Reporting skills
  • Must be a US Person (US Citizen, Green Card Holder / US permanent resident, refugee or asylee) to meet export control compliance requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience in Aerospace and Defense industry with experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience leading projects that aim to innovate tools, processes, and product
  • Comfortable developing concise and clear executive-style presentations to support various reviews and performance briefings
  • Experience with Tableau or similar reporting/visualization tools.
