About the position

The FP&A Analyst position at GKN Aerospace is an individual contributor role that supports the Alabama manufacturing site within the Defense Business Line. The analyst will report directly to the Finance Director and is responsible for providing actionable financial planning and analysis recommendations to key stakeholders and senior leaders. This role involves financial modeling, analysis, and coordination to support month-end analysis, forecasting cycles, and the establishment of the Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Plan. The analyst will also support various functional areas with financial analysis, program finances, and risk assessments, ensuring sound financial and operational decisions are made.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and provide actionable FP&A recommendations to key stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Conduct financial modeling and analysis to support month-end analysis and forecasting cycles.
  • Establish the Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Plan over a 5-year outlook.
  • Support functional areas with financial analysis, ad-hoc analysis, and scenario-based planning.
  • Analyze financial data from CiERP and utilize financial models and consolidation tools for reporting.
  • Perform detailed analysis on customer margins by contract, model, and part number.
  • Identify and develop efficient methods to analyze financial results and operating data for management.
  • Analyze direct and indirect labor levels and trends to inform management decisions.
  • Ensure managers are informed of their spending and financial results, maintaining credible relationships with management.
  • Perform indirect cost and program costs analysis to achieve operating and financial performance objectives.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-3 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Experience with enterprise-level cost management tools (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Cobra Ci, Hyperion/Smartview, OneStream, TM1)
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be a US Person (US Citizen, Green Card Holder, refugee or asylee) to meet export control compliance requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience in Aerospace and Defense industry with a manufacturing background
  • Ability to extract, compile, and summarize financial data into simple problem statements and recommendations
  • Experience in developing executive-style presentations for reviews and performance briefings
  • Understanding of cost and indirect Forward-Pricing Rates management techniques
  • Experience leading projects to innovate tools, processes, and products
  • Familiarity with Tableau or similar reporting/visualization tools.
