About the position

The FP&A Analyst at Aflac Global Investments will play a crucial role in financial forecasting, management reporting, and process improvement. This position is designed to support the financial planning and analysis functions of the organization, driving value through the development and execution of multi-year corporate business plans related to investment strategies. The analyst will collaborate with various teams across the U.S. and Japan, contributing to the overall investment activities of Aflac and its subsidiaries.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Global Investments leadership team in developing and executing multi-year financial plans.
  • Provide rigorous actuals vs. budget, forecasting, financial analysis, and modeling for major business initiatives.
  • Develop the company's annual financial planning processes and coordinate design and testing changes to financial models.
  • Prepare financial forecasts and collaborate with division representatives to resolve financial issues.
  • Support variance reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including actual to plan comparisons.
  • Analyze trends for various lines of business and investment strategies through forecast models.
  • Collect, organize, analyze, and evaluate financial and statistical data for internal and external reporting.
  • Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and maintain accurate regulatory filings.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare variance reports for management.
  • Assist in the automation and standardization of financial modeling and reporting processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of corporate-level finance experience, preferably in financial planning and forecasting within the insurance industry.
  • Experience with various investment asset classes such as Fixed Income, Public, Private, Alternatives, and Growth Assets.
  • Experience in implementing financial planning and automation tools like Alteryx, EPBCS, or Anaplan is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SAP suite or similar systems is preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting, with an emphasis on insurance.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA, CFA, or CMA certification is a plus.
  • Experience in global financial institutions is welcomed.
  • Knowledge of JGAAP is a plus.
