About the position

The Financial Analyst IV is responsible for leading the analysis of financial trends, costs, revenues, and commitments to predict future financial performance. This role involves managing the development of reports, ensuring data integrity, and communicating financial impacts to management. The analyst will also support financial control environments and lead initiatives for compliance and new business integration.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development, production, and validation of reports from detailed claims, eligibility, pharmacy, and clinical data.
  • Compile, analyze, and communicate financial and clinical information, including evaluations of medical contracts and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure integrity of information obtained for analysis and maintain knowledge of the computer information system.
  • Direct and develop competitive analysis and present findings to senior management.
  • Develop membership projections, medical expense forecasts, and budgets while monitoring monthly variances.
  • Identify trends and patterns using departmental reports and data mining techniques.
  • Evaluate and improve internal analysis processes to align with organizational goals.
  • Support the financial control environment by reconciling internal data sets with state-provided information.
  • Utilize analysis experience to report on medical, contract, and administrative activity.
  • Lead initiatives to ensure compliance with MAR and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Finance Leadership and EPMO for new business procurement and integration.
  • Mentor and develop new associates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science/Arts Degree in accounting, finance, economics, computer sciences, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related professional role with a focus on data manipulation and analysis.
  • SQL and/or SAS experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other related post-graduate degree is preferred.
  • Managed Care or healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or related certification is preferred.
