About the position

TE Connectivity's Financial Planning & Analysis Teams are integral to the company's financial health, focusing on developing, interpreting, and implementing financial concepts for effective financial planning and control. The teams engage in technical analysis to assess both present and future financial performance, gathering and analyzing data to prepare and summarize recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activities, and operating forecasts. Additionally, they conduct economic research and studies related to rates of return, depreciation, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, and the impact of governmental regulations. We are seeking an experienced FP&A Analyst to join the operational Plant Controlling team at TE Connectivity MOG, specifically supporting the financial operations in El Cajon, California. This role is crucial for producing timely and accurate financial information while providing business-relevant consulting. The successful candidate will be responsible for ownership of product costing, becoming a subject matter expert in costing activities, and partnering with project and product management for contribution margin calculations and cost simulations. The analyst will also analyze and guide capital expenditure requests, ensuring control over capital spending and reporting. Responsibilities include conducting TEBIT savings audits, maintaining data integrity, and preparing monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and internal and external audits. The role involves tracking manufacturing performance results, cost control, and variance follow-ups, as well as maintaining and updating datasets of plant performance figures and KPIs. Weekly reporting of actual results against forecasts will be required, along with support for regular operational reviews and ad-hoc analyses to identify business performance gaps and propose corrective actions. The analyst will also ensure compliance with company policies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within processes, systems, and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of product costing and becoming a subject matter expert in costing activities including annual or rolling costing.
  • Business partnering with project and product management for contribution margin calculations and cost simulations.
  • Analysis and guidance of capital expenditure requests including control of capital spend and reporting.
  • Conducting TEBIT savings audits, ensuring data integrity and monthly reviews of actual savings.
  • Support in preparation of monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and audits (internal and external).
  • Preparation, analysis, and submission of monthly manufacturing performance results.
  • Cost control, tracking spend, and following up on variances.
  • Maintain and update dataset of plant performance figures and KPIs.
  • Weekly reporting of actual results against forecast and review with Plant Controller and Ops Team.
  • Support in preparation of regular operational reviews.
  • Support on ad-hoc analysis, proactively identifying business performance gaps and proposing gap-closing actions.
  • Implementing permanent controls to ensure compliance with company policies and liaising with FSS.
  • Continuous improvement of processes, systems, and reports.
  • Acting as a business partner and support to the local operations team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance and Accounting/Controlling.
  • Mastery knowledge in Excel and proficiency in other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience with SAP is beneficial but not essential; knowledge of MACOLA ERP is a plus.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with an emphasis on strategic thinking, teamwork, and results-driven implementation.
  • Very good quantitative, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Good communication skills to interact with different levels and functions within the organization to identify and solve problems, as well as improve and carry out processes in support of the team's responsibilities.
  • Fluent in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in manufacturing finance roles.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
  • Knowledge of ITAR and EAR regulations.
