About the position

The FP&A Analyst role at Robert W. Baird involves monitoring the financial performance of the Private Wealth Management (PWM) business. The analyst will provide financial analysis and advice to assist with both operational and strategic decisions, prepare forward-looking information including budgets, and evaluate trends and business opportunities in collaboration with various departments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the analysis of business unit performance, financial models, and ad-hoc reporting to support strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain internal historical financial and operational data.
  • Prepare and distribute key client metrics and business management reports.
  • Participate in the monthly close process through communication of variances, key operating metrics, highlights, and financial performance to the finance reporting team.
  • Generate system reports and analyze revenue and expenses to prepare financial schedules and key highlight summaries for internal financial review meetings.
  • Prepare executive summary and charts for the executive close packet.
  • Assist with the process of updating the annual budget by working closely with business units and finance business partners.
  • Gather key assumptions for revenue, personnel, outside vendors, and business initiatives to develop client budgets.
  • Create and generate system and ad-hoc reports and prepare variance analysis.
  • Assist in the development of client presentation materials.
  • Participate in key team-wide or department-wide initiatives to improve overall performance and support strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business (Finance or Accounting preferred).
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability with a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively as a team player.
  • Production of high quality, timely, and accurate work output.
  • Organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and complete multiple concurrent responsibilities.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to take ownership as needed and a desire for continual learning.
  • Understanding of client needs and the ability to provide superior service.
