About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical FP&A Analyst to join our finance team at LA Financial Credit Union. This role is crucial in supporting the financial planning and analysis functions within the organization, particularly in the manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will leverage their strong understanding of financial concepts, cost accounting, and strategic planning to drive business decisions and enhance profitability. The FP&A Analyst will collaborate with various departments to provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making processes.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit loss statements.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to forecast revenue and analyze sales performance.
  • Assist in the development of budgets and financial models to project future performance.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and other regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Provide insights into cost accounting practices to identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in investment analysis to evaluate potential opportunities for growth.
  • Support the preparation of presentations for senior management regarding financial performance and forecasts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of technical accounting principles and financial concepts.
  • Experience with cost accounting practices is preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools; advanced Excel skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting standards such as IFRS.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration across departments.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves
