About the position

The FP&A Analyst at Gold Star Foods will be responsible for overseeing the analysis and reporting for the USDA Program across all locations. This role involves creating analytical tools, managing vendor and item setups, and ensuring accurate reporting for program performance. The analyst will work closely with the USDA team to resolve issues and enhance reporting processes, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the finance division.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day analysis and reporting for the USDA Program.
  • Audit and resolve new item setups and discrepancies in collaboration with the USDA Program Manager.
  • Audit and resolve new vendor setups.
  • Utilize PowerBI to enhance reporting analysis on the NOI and FFS programs.
  • Identify schools not receiving drawdowns and report reasons to the USDA team for resolution.
  • Manage manufacturer balances nationally.
  • Create PowerBI tools for better analysis of customer and coop utilization.
  • Develop forecasting tools for USDA Processed Commodity & Direct Delivery management.
  • Conduct variance analysis between NAV and 3rd party reporting systems, reporting variances to the USDA team.
  • Perform quarterly inventory loss analysis and develop inventory reserve methodology based on findings.
  • Utilize the 3rd party Bid tool, Stryker and NAV for accurate identification of USDA eligible items for pricing.
  • Ensure all USDA reporting functions are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Focus on improving reporting and analysis for internal customers.
  • Maintain professional knowledge by attending workshops and participating in industry events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and critical thinking ability.
  • Experience in analyzing data sets and providing recommendations.
