About the position

Race Winning Brands (RWB) is seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to join our Finance department in Mentor, Ohio. As a key member of the team, the FP&A Analyst will support the Financial Analyst in various reporting and analysis efforts crucial for the organization. This role is integral to the budgeting, planning, and analysis processes, providing insights that drive business performance and strategic decision-making. The FP&A Analyst will work closely with management to design, create, and enhance complex financial models, including Profit and Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and Bank Covenants Tracking. Additionally, this position will play a vital role in the annual budget development process, ensuring that financial planning aligns with the company's strategic goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing key business areas to identify opportunities for improvement in performance metrics and trends. This includes monitoring and analyzing budget variances, recommending continuous improvement opportunities, and building in-depth financial models to support new business initiatives and financing strategies. The FP&A Analyst will also perform ad-hoc analyses to support various business initiatives and assist in the preparation and review of monthly Executive Leadership packages. Furthermore, this role will support global cash management processes and contribute to the expansion of financial systems, leveraging new data tools to enhance reporting consistency across sites. In this dynamic role, the FP&A Analyst will be expected to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to quality control. The ideal candidate will possess a fundamental knowledge of accounting principles, a clear understanding of the relationship between P&L and balance sheets, and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to ERP systems. Responsibilities

  • Assist corporate finance and senior management with daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting.
  • Monitor and analyze budget variances to recommend continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Build and manage in-depth financial models to support new business opportunities, financing initiatives and divestitures.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses in support of business initiatives.
  • Support due diligence efforts when required.
  • Support preparation and review of monthly Executive Leadership packages.
  • Assist in effectively planning and budgeting business results.
  • Suggest, develop, and maintain business KPI's, performance metrics, and trend analysis on business results.
  • Support global cash management processes and related activities.
  • Assist with financial systems expansion, leveraging new data tools while ensuring consistency of site reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum two (2) years of accounting/FP&A experience (preferably in a manufacturing environment).
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); ERP System (MAS 500, Longview Khalix).
  • Clear understanding of P&L and balance sheet relationship.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify problems, gather and analyze information skillfully to resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Oral communication skills to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations and demonstrate group presentation skills in conducting meetings.
  • Written communication skills to self-edit written reports, emails, and outside correspondence for spelling, grammar, and punctuation, ensuring communication is precise and clearly interpreted by its audience.
  • Planning/organizing skills to prioritize work and plan activities to maximize time efficiently.
  • Quality control that demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in final work product, good listening skills, and sensitivity in responding to employee and new hire questions and inquiries.
  • Dependability to consistently be at work and on time, reliably following instructions, responding to management direction, and soliciting feedback to improve performance.
