About the position

The FP&A Analyst at DataPath plays a crucial role in supporting the company's financial planning and analysis functions. This position involves budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial analysis, collaborating closely with leadership and various departments to drive accountability and enhance financial performance. The analyst will leverage strong financial knowledge and communication skills to provide insights and guidance based on data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Support the financial planning and analysis functions, providing insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare yearly plans, monthly forecasts, and ongoing variance analysis between actuals, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to project revenues, expenses, and cash flows.
  • Collaborate with departments to gather relevant data and assumptions for financial analysis.
  • Analyze financial models of business cases, new opportunities, and cost estimations.
  • Partner with department managers and the executive team to develop the annual business plan and ongoing forecasts.
  • Coordinate the preparation of financial forecasts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Support monthly project reviews comparing actual performance against budget and estimates to complete.
  • Analyze financial and business performance against key metrics and the annual budget to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide weekly cash forecasts and support operational performance measurement and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years prior experience in business analysis and forecasting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience managing large data sources.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong operational knowledge and ability to gather insights from data to inform strategy.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Prior experience with ERP systems and reporting tools, preferably CostPoint/Deltek.
  • Experience in a government contract environment is preferred.

Nice-to-haves
