About the position

The FP&A Analyst at DLA Piper plays a crucial role in supporting financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and decision-making processes. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support short-term and long-term forecasting.
  • Analyze historical financial data and identify trends to inform future projections.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather relevant data for accurate forecasting.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial forecasts to senior management.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process, including creating budget templates and coordinating with department heads.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and analyze variances.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve budget accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct variance analysis to explain differences between actual results and forecasts/budgets.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess business performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests as needed.
  • Work closely with senior management to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze potential business opportunities, mergers, acquisitions, and investments.
  • Develop financial models to assess the financial impact of strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
  • Implement best practices in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Utilize financial software and tools to enhance data accuracy and reporting capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or similar field.
  • 2 years' experience in a law firm, professional services firm or blue-chip organization with a focus on expense management and/or financial planning.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present findings and recommendations.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and address financial challenges.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
