About the position

The FP&A Analyst at SmartHire Inc. is a critical role focused on developing and implementing pricing strategies while managing financial planning and analysis. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize profitability and provide data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making. The Senior Analyst will play a vital role in financial analysis, strategic planning, and operational efficiency, contributing significantly to the company's financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and optimize pricing strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Perform detailed pricing analysis to assess market trends and competitor pricing.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, R&D, and operations teams to align pricing with business objectives.
  • Evaluate market, customer, and competitor developments to adjust pricing strategies as needed.
  • Analyze pricing elasticity and conduct scenario analysis to assess the impact of various pricing strategies.
  • Design and implement tools for ongoing pricing governance, including price setting and compliance.
  • Assist in leading the annual strategic planning and budgeting processes.
  • Prepare detailed financial models to project future performance based on pricing scenarios.
  • Create and update financial forecasts, assessing the impact of business decisions.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting for senior leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in finance, pricing, or financial analysis.
  • Strong understanding of pricing principles and competitive analysis.
  • Proven experience with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience in a customized small batch manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Sage X3.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in investment banking, consulting, or private equity environments.
  • Cost accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong cross-functional relationship building skills.
