About the position

The FP&A Analyst position offers a unique opportunity to join a growing distribution company that specializes in providing equipment for the aviation industry, including essential tools such as tow trucks, baggage vans, and de-icers. This company has been operating for over 40 years and has recently been acquired by a large private equity firm, which positions it for significant growth and expansion. As the first FP&A professional in the Plainview, NY office, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial planning and analysis function within the organization. This role is not just about number crunching; it involves strategic insight and the ability to influence business decisions through data-driven analysis. In this position, you will be responsible for analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and business profit and loss statements (P&Ls) to provide insights that drive strategic business growth. You will lead the budget and forecast processes, develop cash flow models, and identify trends through comprehensive analysis reporting. Your ability to create presentations that distill complex financial data into actionable insights will be essential, as you will need to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to various teams within the organization. Additionally, you will prepare accurate monthly financial reports and assist in the preparation of presentations that highlight thoughtful analysis and identify necessary action items.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing KPI's and business P&L's to provide insight for strategic business growth.
  • Leading the budget and forecast process, including cash flow modeling and trend identification in analysis reporting.
  • Creating presentations that provide insightful analysis, identify required action items, and effectively frame decisions to be made.
  • Preparing accurate monthly financial reports and assisting in the preparation of presentations that communicate conclusions to teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related area.
  • 1-2 years of experience in finance or accounting.
  • Experience with data validation and financial modeling.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
