About the position

At Baldor, the FP&A Analyst will play a crucial role in assisting with financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making across the organization. This pivotal position requires a strong financial and operational acumen, excellent financial modeling skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The FP&A Analyst will support the Management team and Department leaders with data-driven analysis in support of Baldor's strategic and financial objectives. The responsibilities include preparing and consolidating the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives. The analyst will develop and deliver financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for the Management team, highlighting critical performance indicators, trends, and areas of opportunity or risk. Conducting variance analysis to gauge actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts is also a key responsibility, along with elucidating the principal drivers of variances. Additionally, the FP&A Analyst will partner with the Accounting team during the Close process, reviewing Departmental P&L results and identifying potential expense accruals. Serving as the FP&A liaison to Departments, the analyst will work closely in support of initiatives and general financial inquiries. Creating financial models, such as Cash Flow and P&L, will be essential for analyzing past performance and predicting future growth. The role also involves collaborating with operational and functional units to establish and monitor key performance metrics, supporting business leaders in evaluating the financial implications of strategic endeavors, investments, and business cases, and assisting in the development and implementation of enhanced FP&A tools. Compliance with financial protocols, procedures, and regulatory prerequisites is paramount.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in preparation of financial and strategic plans for individual departments and the wider organization.
  • Prepare and consolidate the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Develop and deliver financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for the Management team, highlighting critical performance indicators, trends, and areas of opportunity / risk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Accumulation of 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends in financial and operational data.
  • Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex financial concepts to non-finance professionals.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools, ERP systems (MS D365 preferred), and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the food distribution or manufacturing industry is preferred but not required.
