About the position

The FP&A Data Analytics Engineering Manager plays a pivotal role in leveraging software engineering principles to develop data models and products that address critical business challenges. This position requires a collaborative approach, working closely with data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts across various functions to transform raw data into actionable business insights. The manager will need to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of data sources, transformation methodologies, and how the information derived from these models can enhance key business processes. In this role, the manager will apply software engineering best practices, including version control and continuous integration, to maintain a robust analytics code base. Strong communication skills are essential, as the manager will be responsible for ensuring alignment and understanding across the team, facilitating effective collaboration, and clarifying project objectives. A blend of business acumen and technical expertise is crucial, with proficiency in common programming languages and familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Snowflake being highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and gather the data requirements to address user and business needs.
  • Design and implement intricate SQL queries and stored procedures, along with ETL processes.
  • Perform data analysis, modeling, and quality assurance methods to create, adjust, and maintain data structures.
  • Create and oversee scripts and jobs for database management tasks such as backup, recovery, and version control to ensure smooth database operations and business continuity.
  • Engage with customers and stakeholders to verify that their expectations are met.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in common programming languages.
