About the position

The FP&A Data Analytics Engineering Supervisor at UPS plays a pivotal role in applying software engineering principles to develop data models and products that address and solve business-critical problems. This position requires collaboration with data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts across various functions to transform raw data into actionable business logic and consumable information. The supervisor will demonstrate a deep understanding of data sources, data transformation methodologies, and how the information derived from the models supports and enhances key business processes. In this role, the supervisor will apply software engineering best practices, including version control and continuous integration, to maintain the analytics code base. Strong communication skills are essential to ensure consistent understanding and alignment across the team, facilitating effective collaboration and clarity on project objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a mix of business acumen and technical skills, including proficiency in common programming languages and familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Snowflake. Responsibilities

  • Collect Data Requirements: Identify and gather the data requirements to address user and business needs.
  • Develop Complex Queries: Design and implement intricate SQL queries and stored procedures, along with ETL processes.
  • Apply Data Techniques: Perform data analysis, modeling, and quality assurance methods to create, adjust, and maintain data structures.
  • Manage Database Operations: Create and oversee scripts and jobs for database management tasks such as backup, recovery, and version control to ensure smooth database operations and business continuity.
  • Ensure Data Accuracy: Engage with customers and stakeholders to verify that their expectations are met.
