About the position

The Balance Sheet Management Lead Analyst is a strategic professional who plays a crucial role in the Balance Sheet Recovery and Resolution Planning team. This position requires staying updated on developments within the financial services field and contributing to the directional strategy by applying this knowledge to the job and the business. The analyst is recognized as a technical authority in their area, necessitating a basic understanding of commercial awareness. The role typically involves collaboration with multiple subject matter experts within the business, emphasizing the importance of developed communication and diplomacy skills to guide, influence, and convince colleagues and external customers alike. The work performed has a significant impact on the area, leading to complex deliverables that affect the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function or job family. In this role, the analyst will take the lead in enhancing Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP) capabilities, working closely with business process subject matter experts and wider stakeholders to deliver improvements in technology and business processes. The core responsibilities include supporting enhancements to forecasting execution processes, contributing to the design of strategic enhancements to RRP technology systems, documenting business requirements for technology teams, developing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans, performing UAT, and ensuring that enhancements are designed and delivered as required. Additionally, the analyst will contribute to the definition and documentation of business processes, ensuring that all improvements align with the overall strategic goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support Recovery and Resolution Planning forecasting execution processes enhancements
  • Contribute to design of strategic enhancements to RRP technology systems and business processes
  • Document business requirements for technology teams to deliver on
  • Develop User Acceptance Testing plans and write test cases
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing
  • Work with business process owners and technology teams to ensure enhancements are designed and delivered as required
  • Contribute to definition and documentation of business processes

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of experience working for a financial services organization
  • Analytical skills and ability to design strategic solutions and processes
  • Extensive experience as a business analyst delivering technology enhancements
  • Proficiency with standard analysis tools (Excel / Access / SQL)
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Recovery and Resolution Planning and/or stress testing (e.g. CCAR)
  • Knowledge of Balance Sheet reporting and general accounting principles
  • Experience with modelling
